RU suspends its 2 teachers

RAJSHAHI, Feb 17, 2025 (BSS)- Rajshahi University (RU) has suspended its two 
teachers on various charges last night as per reports of the inquiry 
committee formed to investigate the allegations brought against them earlier.

Professor Akhter Hossain Mazumder, administrator of Public Relation Office, 
said a committee has also been formed for their final termination as per the 
probe committee report.

He said the decision has been taken in the 536th meeting of syndicate, the 
highest policy-making body of the public varsity, held at the campus with 
Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof Saleh Hassan Naquib in the chair.

The teachers are: Anik Krishna Karmaker, associate prof of the Department of 
Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and Sadiqul Islam, associate prof 
of the Department of Law.

In another decision, the meeting reinstated the studentship of Rafiqul Islam 
of the Department of Applied Mathematics of 2007-08 academic session as per 
the report of the inquiry committee which was earlier formed to review the 
fact of cancellation of post-graduation registration and studentship.

Apart from reinstating his studentship, the meeting unanimously took the 
decision of publishing his withheld examination.
