Touhid urges Qatar to recruit Bangladeshi skilled professionals

DHAKA, Feb 17, 2025 (BSS) – Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain today urged the Qatar government to recruit Bangladeshi professionals like doctors, engineers, IT professionals and nurses.

In this regard, he invited representatives from the relevant authorities from Qatar to visit Bangladesh to meet the professionals for prospective recruitment. 

The foreign adviser made call when held a meeting with Qatari State Minister for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al Muraikhi on the sidelines of the 8th Indian Ocean Conference (IOC) in Muscat, a Bangladesh foreign ministry’s press release said here this evening.   

During the meeting, the foreign adviser also thanked the Qatar government for hosting a good number of Bangladeshi expatriates in its land. 

The foreign adviser also welcomed investment from Qatar while both leaders highlighted the importance of visits from private sectors of Qatar to Bangladesh to identify the sectors for investment.

Apart from the bilateral meetings, the Bangladesh foreign adviser participated in the last day of the Indian Ocean Conference being held in Muscat the capital of Oman under theme of “Voyage of New Horizons of Maritime Partnership”.

Hossain is scheduled to return home on Tuesday.
