Ex-MP Nadvi placed on 2-day remand

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 17, 2025 (BSS) – A Court here today placed former lawmaker of Chattogram-15 constituency Abu Reza Mohammad Nezamuddin Nadvi on a two-day remand for questioning in a case under the Explosives Act.

Metropolitan Magistrate Kazi Shariful Islam issued the remand order as police produced Nadvi before the court and pleaded for 10-day remand, said advocate Mofizul Haque Bhuiyan, Public Prosecutor (PP) of Chatogram Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court.

Court sources said a businessman Mohammad Momen Hossain Joy filed the case against 265 persons with Sadarghat thana on the allegation of having involvement with killing and raping during the anti-discrimination movement in Chattogram on August 4 last year.

Former lawmaker Nadvi, chairman of Allama Fazlullah Foundation and a teacher of International Islamic University of Chattogram is an accused of 10 others cases in Chattogram.
