BGB destroys illegal drugs worth Tk 74.32 crore

KUSHTIA, Feb 17, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today destroyed various types of illegal drugs worth about Taka 74.32 crore at Kusthia BGB 47 Battalion’s Training Ground here.

According to the BGB, the contraband items which were seized by the BGB members from different areas of the Kushtia and Meherpur frontiers from February 01, 2024 to 31 January 2025. 

Destroyed drugs include phensedyl, alcohol, beer, heroin, marijuana and cocaine. These drugs were destroyed by rollers and fire, the BGB official said.

Kushtia Sector Commander Colonel Md Maruful Abedin, 47 BGB Commander Lt Col. Mahbub Morshed Rahman and Mirpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Bibi Korimunnesa, among others, were present at that time.
