Met office forecasts rain likely over parts of country

DHAKA, Feb 18, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted that rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur and Sylhet divisions while dry weather is likely to continue elsewhere over country for the next 24 hours.

"Rain or thunder showers is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur and Sylhet divisions and weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country", said the forecast beginning from 9am today.

Trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas. Seasonal low lies over the South Bay.

Light to moderate fog may occur at places over the country from late night to early morning.

Night temperature may rise slightly and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 33.2 degrees Celsius at Bandarban and minimum temperature today was 11.0 degree Celsius at Dimla.

The sun sets at 05-55 pm today and rises at 06-29 am tomorrow in the capital.
