DHAKA, Feb 18, 2025 (BSS) - Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder today said primary school students will get textbooks within February.

"In the meantime, 85 percent primary textbooks were reached schools," he told journalists after the working session of primary and mass education ministry of the third day of the Deputy Commissioner's conference at Osmani Memorial Auditorium here.

Replying to a query on the matter of teachers' movement, which is now in the court, he said a judgment had come from the court. "We have appealed and it is now under trail. So there is no scope to take administrative initiative," the adviser said.

He said results for recruiting government teachers were announced following legal procedures.

"We have heard DC's voices. We have informed them about our activities and what we are going to do. DCs were told to look into issues in the district committee, as they were in the committee," he added.

The adviser also told DCs to oversee construction work aimed at completing construction work rightly.

"Many kindergarten schools are in operation in district level. Those kindergarten schools are required to register following the policy. We have strengthened registration of those kindergarten schools, as many of them are not registered," he said.
