3 Uttara juvenile gang members taken on 3-day police remand

DHAKA, Feb 19, 2025(BSS) - The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court today granted three days police remand to three juvenile gang members who were arrested for attacking a couple in sector-7 in Uttara.

Sub-Inspector (SI) of Uttara West Thana Din Islam produced Alfaz Miah alias Shishir, 22, Sajib, 20 and Mehedi Hsan Saif before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Shahin Reza with a prayer for granting their seven days remand.

The lawyers of the arrested youths opposed the remand prayer and prayed for granting bail. However, the court after hearing both the sides, granted their three days police remand rejecting their bail petitions.

The same court on Tuesday granted two days police remand to Mobarak Hossain and Robi Ray who were earlier arrested by Uttara West Thana police.

Police said, the arrested persons are the members of a juvenile terrorist gang of Uttara area who were involved in chopping a couple on road No-9 in sector-7 of Uttara area at about 9.15pm on Monday.

Uttara West Thana Police lodged a case against the gang members under Anti-Terrorism Act.
