DHAKA, Feb 19, 2025 (BSS) - Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Adviser Md Nahid Islam today handed over a cheque of Taka 1,06,17,214 to the fund of Bangladesh Sramik Kallyan Foundation under Labour and Employment Ministry.

Nahid Islam handed over the cheque to Labour and Employment Adviser Brigadier General (R.) Dr. M Sakhawat Hussain at the meeting room of the Shipping Ministry.

This money was paid from the profits of Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC for the 2023-2024 fiscal.

 In the function, Nahid Islam said, "This money will be spent on providing fair wages and other benefits to the workers. This financial assistance will play an effective role in the overall welfare of the workers."
 
He emphasized on following the policy and supervision in spending the money.
 
Posts and Telecommunications Division Secretary Dr Md Mushfiqur Rahman and Labour and Emlpoyment Ministry Secretary A H M Shafiquzzaman, among others, were present at the event.
