Army Chief returns home

DHAKA, Feb 19, 2025 (BSS) - A five-member delegation, led by Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman, returned home today after his four-day visit to Kuwait.

During the visit, the Army Chief paid courtesy calls on Acting Chief of Staff of the Kuwait Armed Forces Major General Pilot Sabah Jaber AlAhmed AlSabah, Secretary of the Ministry of Defense Dr. Abdullah Meshal Mubarak Abdullah A. AlSabah, and Secretary of the Kuwait National Guard Lieutenant General Engineer Hashem Abdul Razzak Al-Rifai.

A release of the Directorate of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said here today.

During the meeting, fruitful discussions were held on various issues of mutual relations and bilateral cooperation between the armies of the two states.
 
It said the Emir of Kuwait expressed his sincere gratitude for Bangladesh's participation in the Gulf War and the significant contribution of the Bangladesh Armed Forces to the subsequent reconstruction of Operation Kuwait.

During his tour, the Army Chief visited the Bangladesh Military Contingents (BMC) Headquarters in Kuwait and was informed about its various important activities and provided necessary guidance.

He received the officers' address and courtesies with the officers and other ranks of the Bangladeshi Military Contingent to exchange views.

Besides, the Army Chief visited the Kuwait Armed Forces Staff College there.

Earlier, the delegation left Dhaka for Kuwait on February 16, 2025, at the invitation of the Acting Chief of Staff of the Kuwait Armed Forces.
