PANCHAGARH, March 2, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested five members of a robber gang at Azijnagar village under Tentulia upazila of the district early this morning.

The arrested were Anwar Hossain, 41, Tohidul Islam, 40, Shariful Islam, 35, Hasanur, 40, Aynal, 38, residents of Dinajpur and Rangpur districts.

The robber gang entered the house of schoolteacher Belayet Hossain at the village around 1 am after breaking open the main door and beat the inmates of the house.

After hearing hue and cry of the inmates, local people rushed to the spot and caught them as they were fleeing after looting cash money and gold ornaments from the house.

Later, police arrested the robbers, said Additional Superintendent of Police S. M. Shafiqul Islam.
