3 snatchers, drug peddlers held in capital

DHAKA, March 6, 2025 (BSS)- Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested three snatchers and drug peddlers in the capital’s Gulistan, Motijheel and Tejgaon areas.

The arrestees were identified as Kausar, 19, Md. Liton Howlader, 32 and Md. Golam Rabbi, 27, said a media release of DMP today.   

A team of CTTC arrested a professional mugger Kausar as he was fleeing after snatching a passerby at Kaptan Bazar crossing on Wednesday at 03:25pm. After the arrest, he was handed over to Paltan Model police station.

On the other hand, another team of CTTC conducted a raid under the flyover near Tejgaon Rail crossing and arrested Golam Rabbi with a machete and drug paraphernalia on the same day at about 11:10am. He was later handed over to Tejgaon police station.

CTTC in another drive, on Wednesday at around 7:25 pm that conducted   at Motijheel Dilkusha Falpatti crossing area   arrested Liton Howlader. Liton was selling drugs in the Motijheel area with his other associates. 

A bag of ganja was recovered from his possession. He was handed over to Motijheel police station.
