Mild to moderate heat wave sweeps over many districts: Met office

DHAKA, April 4, 2025 (BSS)- Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Rangamati, Feni, Laxmipur, Jashore & Chuadanga and it may continue.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), at a press release, stated this, adding that day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country.

Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.

The Met office predicted rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at one or two places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions. 

It said trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas and seasonal low lies over the South Bay.

Country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 38.2 degree Celsius at Bagabari in Rajshahi Division while today's minimum temperature 17.8 degree Celsius was recorded at Dimla in Rangpur Division, the Met office added. 

Today's sunset at 06:16 pm while tomorrow's sunrise at 05:47am in the capital.
