Global climate strike programme held in Haji Danesh University

DINAJPUR, April 12, 2025(BSS) - A global climate strike programme was held at Haji Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University today demanding climate protection, expansion of renewable energy and increasing investment in agriculture.

Young Climate Action Network (YOUCAN), a voluntary organization of the country, organized the programme. 

A large number of students of the university joined the programme when they chanted slogans like- ‘We want justice-climate justice’, ‘we will not defeat-will not pollute environment’ during the programme.

Moderated by the Vice-President of the network of the university unit Sumaiya Binte Mahbub Atoshi, the programme was addressed, among others, by university representative Mohammad Raijul Islam, Safayet Hossain and Rebeka Bente Sharif.

The speakers said that these demands are not only ours’ demand, its is the demand of all. Our existence will be in a stake if these demands are not fulfilled, they said adding that all have to work unitedly to protect the environment. 

We can build a beautiful world unitedly by protecting our surrounded environment, they added.
