KISHOREGANJ, Oct 11, 2025 (BSS) - A fisherman was killed and two others were injured in a lightning strike at Chikni haor of Borgaon village under Tarail upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Bajlu Mia, 48, son of late Ramzan Ali of Borgaon village under Jawar union of the upazila.

Lightning followed by a rainstorm, hit the fishermen around 7 am when they were catching fish in the haor, said Sabbir Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tarail Police Station.

Fisherman Bajlu died on the spot and the two others injured were taken to Tarail Upazila Health Complex.
