PATUAKHALI, Oct 11, 2025 (BSS) - Two people were killed and 27 others injured in a road accident at Fatulla area under Auliapur union in Sadar upazila this morning.

The deceased were identified as ASI Abdul Alim, 33, and a two-year-old boy Piyam, son of ASI Prosenjit.

The accident occurred around 8 am on the Patuakhali-Kuakata highway when a bus of 'Dhansiri Paribahan' collided head-on with a RAB vehicle, leaving two dead on the spot and 27 others injured, said Squadron Leader M Rashedul Alam, Camp Commander of RAB-8 in Patuakhali.

Fire service personnel, with the help of locals, rescued the injured and took them to Patuakhali Medical College Hospital.

Later, several critically injured victims were shifted to Barishal Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for better treatment.
