One arrested in stabbing murder case in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 11, 2025 (BSS) - Police have arrested a 24-year-old man, Yusuf Hossain Bijoy, in connection with the stabbing death of a truck driver following a dispute over parking in front of the jetty gate in Sadarghat area of the city.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadarghat Police Station Md Abdur Rahim confirmed the arrest, saying that Yusuf was apprehended during an operation in the Sadarghat area on Friday night.

Yusuf is from Brahmanbaria District, while the victim, Sajeeb Chandra Nath, hailed from Mirsarai Upazila of Chattogram.

According to police sources, Sajeeb and Yusuf worked as truck drivers for a company in Sadarghat. On the day of the incident, they were waiting in front of the jetty gate with two separate trucks to transport scrap iron.

An argument ensued between them over who had the right serial number to enter the jetty first, leading to a physical altercation. During the scuffle, Yusuf stabbed Sajeeb in the chest. Other drivers intervened and rushed Sajeeb to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor. 

Police arrested Yusuf at the scene and recovered the knife used in the murder.
