ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, Kushtia, May 6, 2025 (BSS) - The Islamic University (IU) campus in Kushtia has turned into a vibrant display of nature's beauty as krishnachura (royal poinciana) trees burst into full bloom, painting the 175-acre campus in stunning shades of red and green.
Despite the scorching summer heat, the campus feels alive and refreshing. The crimson petals scattered across walkways and the cool shade of the flowering trees offer a peaceful retreat for students, faculty and visitors alike.
The gentle breeze rustling through the branches adds to the calm atmosphere, making the campus feel like a piece of living artwork.
In this typically dry season, the blooming Krishnachura trees breathe life into the university environment. Students often find comfort under their shade, and the vibrant blooms provide a welcome escape from academic pressures.
The natural beauty lifts spirits and inspires many to capture the moment with photos and share them on social media.
These enchanting krishnachura flowers can be seen across the campus, especially around key spots such as the administrative building, TSC entrance, Shaheed Minar area, Rabindra-Nazrul Arts Building, Mir Mosharraf Hossain Academic Building, Khaleda Zia Hall, Ummul Muminin Ayesha Siddiqa (R.A.) Hall and Shah Azizur Rahman Hall.
"At this time of year, walking around the campus feels special," said Atik Shahriar Jisan, a third-year student from the Information and Communication Technology department.
"It's a refreshing change from the digital world. The sight of the flowers and the time spent with friends under these trees really help ease our stress. Faculty members and visitors are equally enchanted" he added.
"I've visited many university campuses, but this one feels different," a visitor shared. "The red krishnachura flowers are everywhere. Even in the heat, the place feels soothing-like being gently embraced by nature."
Every summer, krishnachura flowers bloom across the campus. But this year, the blossoms appear even more vivid and beautiful. This natural festival of color is expected to last for several more weeks, offering daily doses of beauty and serenity to all who step onto IU's campus.
