DHAKA, May 6, 2025 (BSS) –The first Joint Committee Meeting on Defense Cooperation between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia was successfully organized at Dhaka Cantonment today.

The meeting was held under the overall supervision of Armed Forces Division (AFD), said an ISPR press release.

The meeting will strengthen bilateral military relations and achieve mutual defense-related goals, the release added.

The main objective of the meeting is to develop mutual relations, expand strategic cooperation, and coordinate key areas of cooperation - including joint military training, education, defense industry, joint exercises, etc.
 

This historic meeting will be considered an important milestone in the growing defense relations between the two brotherly countries.

The Saudi delegation was led by Major General Mohammed Ibrahim Al Khalidi in the meeting.

The Bangladesh delegation was led by Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division Lieutenant General S M Kamrul Hassan.
