Workshop on Agriculture Marketing held in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, May 17, 2025 (BSS) – The Regional Workshop titled ‘New Direction of Modern Technology and Digitalization of Agriculture Friendly Grain Godown Management’ was held today at the multipurpose room of government coordinated building under the auspices of the Directorate of Agricultural Marketing.

Public Service Commission (PSC) Member Prof. ASM Golam Hafiz was present at the workshop as chief guest. 

Chaired by Project Director of Agriculture Marketing Fatema Wadud,  the event was addressed among others by Deputy Commissioner of Manikganj Dr. Manwar Hossein Malla, Director Agriculture Marketing Directorate (Khamar Bari) Dr. Mohammad Muslim, Agriculture Marketing Dhaka Divisional Deputy Director Md. Mofizul Islam, Deputy Director Agriculture Extension Manikganj Dr. Robiah Noor Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen) Atiqul Mamun, Agriculture Marketing Manikganj District Officer Md. Khorshed Al Mahmud, Manikganj Press Club Convenor Zahangir Alam Biswas, Member Secretary Shahanur Islam and Journalist Abdul Momin.

The keynote speech was presented at the function by Director of Agriculture Marketing Debashish Sarkar.

The speakers said to ensure the fair prices of the agriculture products the preservation of the goods must be strengthened. They suggested for giving agriculture loans at a lower rate for the marginal cultivators for their development.

The speakers also demanded distribution of the agricultural instruments among the farmers at subsidized rate.
