EU delegation visits Hajee Danesh Technology University

DINAJPUR, May 28, 2025 (BSS) – A delegation of European Union (EU) today visited Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) and the members of the delegation showed interest in educational program of the university.


EU Delegation, Bangladesh First Secretary (Political) Sebastian Rieger Brown led the delegation. The delegation also included Program Manager Jasmine Laila.


The delegation visited the university at the invitation of the university's Institute of Research and Training – IRT, said HSTU Public Relations Department Director Md. Khademul Islam. 


At the VIP conference room of the university, Sebastian Rieger Brown discussed the overall activities of the EU in Bangladesh with HSTU Registrar Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Kabir and other faculty representatives. 


He made a detailed presentation on higher education in Europe, various scholarship opportunities, including Erasmus Mundus.


He said, “Bangladesh has been in third position for several years in terms of applications for the Erasmus Mundus program. Last year, 156 students from Bangladesh were selected for this program.” 

The European Union delegation expressed its interest in organizing a major program with the university students on their international standard educational subjects by next October. 


After the presentation, he answered various questions from the faculty and students in the question-answer session. 


At this time, the university's VC Professor Dr. Md. Enamullah, Pro VC Professor Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Kabir, and deans and directors of various faculties and branches were present.


IRT Director Professor Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain said, “We talked about our various academic and research exchange opportunities. We hope that this will bring great opportunities for the teachers and students of our university. 


He said, “We have agreed to organize a major international quality education event with the students of HSTU.”
