Preparations completed for Eid waste management: DNCC Administrator

DHAKA, May 28, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Mohammad Azaz today said all necessary preparations for waste management in  the upcoming the holy Eid-ul-Azha have been completed.

He made this statement while presiding over a preparatory meeting on waste management with officials and employees of the Waste Management Department at the DNCC conference room today,  said a press release.
 
The meeting revealed that 15 volunteers in each ward will be appointed to assist waste management during the Eid period.

In his remarks, the Administrator said that health insurance coverage will be introduced for those who work tirelessly day and night to keep the city clean. 

Additionally, steps will be taken to quickly recruit staff to fill vacant posts in order to address the corporation's manpower shortage, he added.

He also instructed all concerned to ensure the swift removal of sacrificial waste during the Eid festival.

DNCC’s Chief Waste Management Officer Commodore ABM Shamsul Alam along with officials and employees of the Waste Management Department were present.
