DMP files 1,228 cases for violating traffic rules

DHAKA, June 01, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 1,228 cases in a single day across the capital for violating traffic rules.

This information was confirmed in a press release today signed by Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media and Public Relations Division) of the DMP. 

It said the DMP Traffic Division has filed these cases and realized fines through regular drive against traffic rules breakers on May 31.

A total of 79 vehicles were dumped and 99 others were towed during the drive.

It further said such drives against traffic rule breakers will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets.

The DMP traffic division has been working to bring traffic system under smooth in the capital to ensure safer and smoother movement for residents.
