Titas disconnects illegal gas connections in Dhaka, N'ganj

DHAKA, Aug 25, 2025 (BSS)- The Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution 
Company has conducted drives in Dhaka city and Narayanganj districts on 
Sunday for disconnecting illegal connections and realized fines amounting to 
about Taka 8,83,000.

During the drives, the company, led by two executive magistrates, 
disconnected huge illegal gas connections and realized the fines from the 
areas concerned, an official release said here today.

A team of the Titas conducted a drive at the South Keraniganj area in the 
capital and disconnected huge illegal connections including two washing 
factories. 

Meanwhile, another team conducted drives at Nowail-Dulalpur areas under 
Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj district and disconnected 5,500 illegal 
double and one single residential connection.

In addition, illegal gas connections of three kilns of a lime factory were 
also disconnected.
