The three sisters are Upoma Kabir, Shoily Kabir and Mithra Kabir. All are teachers of Department the Computer Science and Engineering of DU.

Upoma said, “Since our childhood we’re brought up in contact with eminent educationalists, and we had a wish to become like them.”

“For this, we three sisters have come into the teaching profession. My father was a teacher of Bengali department and my mother was teaching literature.”

Mithra said though my parents were teachers of language and literature, “I think that our future may prosper if we pursue studies on science. Math and physics were my favourite subjects.”

Along with her science studies Mithra concentrated her extracurricular activities in n music at Chayanat, an institution devoted to Bengali music and culture. She received award in star search competition in 2004.

She said, “My uncle was a professor of physics and a Kali Naryan Scholar. For this, my mother had a mindset that a science student is always a good student.
Sholy said, “My mother always was advocating that modern people would study modern subject. She was far sighted.”

According to Upoma her father was very broad minded and his always thought that a person with independently can shine oneself in any discipline.

The three sisters informed that they got chances in medical and BUET. But they decided to study in the Dhaka University.

Shoily said, “I got the result of Dhaka University after taking admission in medical. Later, I took admission in the Computer Science department as I thought that it was my own place.

Expressing their gratitude to their parents, the sisters said, their journeys were possible only for the support of their parents.

Upoma said, “Every parents love their children. But few of them can become friend of their children. And our parents are our friends.”
