CJ mourns loss of lives in Uttara jet crash

DHAKA, July 21, 2025 (BSS) – Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the loss of lives in the crash of a training jet of Bangladesh Air Force into a building of Milestone School and College in the capital’s Uttara area.

“The loss of the air force personnel, innocent students, guardians, teachers, and staff of Milestone School and College in this tragic incident is truly irreparable. This is a moment of deep grief for the entire nation,” he said in a message of condolence here.

The chief justice prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family members. He also wished a speedy recovery of those injured in the accident.

Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed has already directed the Registrar General of the Supreme Court and other senior officials to enquire about the injured, who are undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery and ensure necessary support for their treatment.
