BAGERHAT, July 21, 2025 (BSS) – A 48-year-old woman was gruesomely killed after her saree and hair got entangled in the belt of a rice threshing machine at Kaligati village under Chitalmari upazila of the district on Monday morning.

The deceased was Nazma Begum, mother of 11 children and wife of Mosharraf Hossain of the village.

The accident took place around 10 am when the women was pouring paddy into the machine.

At first her saree got tangled in the machine. While removing the saree her hair also got entangled in the machine, crushing her to death on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge of Chitalmari Police Station Shahadat Hossain confirmed the matter.
