DMP files 2,140 cases for traffic rule violations

DHAKA, July 24, 2025 (BSS) - The traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed a total of 2,140 cases against motor vehicles and drivers for violating traffic rules in the capital during the last 24 hours.

The DMP has been conducting a campaign against traffic violations in the city aimed at bringing the traffic system under proper management, according to the DMP Media and Public Relations Division sources.

The release said that 385 motor vehicles were dumped and 137 vehicles were wrecked during the campaign on July 23. 

These drives against traffic rule breakers will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets and improve traffic management for smoother movement of city dwellers, it added.
