Madrasah student dies from snakebite in Narail

NARAIL, July 26, 2025 (BSS) - A madrasah student died from a snakebite early this morning at Ishangati Purba Para village under Kashipur union of Lohagara upazila in the district.

The deceased was identified as Naeem Sheikh, 10, son of Zakir Sheikh of the same village. He was a third-grade student at a local madrasah.

Family sources said a venomous snake bit Naeem while he was sleeping beside his mother at their home. He was initially taken to Lohagara Upazila Health Complex. Later, he was referred to Narail Sadar Hospital, where on-duty doctors declared him dead, said. 

Sharif Mohammad Hasan Ferdous, physician at the emergency department, confirmed the death.
