PIROJPUR, July 27, 2025 (BSS) - A minor girl was killed when an auto-rickshaw hit her in Jhautala area of Shankarpasha union in Sadar upazila this morning.

The deceased was Ishrat Jahan, 7, daughter of Bahadur Sheikh of Jhautala village of the upazila.

The accident occurred around 11 am on the Pirojpur-Parerhat road when an auto-rickshaw hit Ishrat while she was crossing the road, said Rabiul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Pirojpur Sadar Police Station.

Locals rescued her and took to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared her dead. 

The body was handed over to the family.
