DHAKA, Aug 9, 2025 (BSS)-The Bangladesh Meteorological Department today predicted rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind over the country in the next 24 hours, commencing 9 am.

"Light to moderate rain/thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensigh and Sylhet divisions," said a Met office bulletin issued here this morning.

Day and night temperatures may rise slightly over the country, the bulletin said.

The highest temperature on Friday was recorded at 33 degrees Celsius in Syedpur in Rangpur division, while today’s minimum temperature was 22.8 degrees Celsius in Bandarban.

The sun sets at 6:36 pm today and rises at 5:32 am tomorrow in the capital.
