Prayer, iftar mahfil held in Bagerhat seeking peace for Shaheed Zia, family

BAGERHAT, March 17, 2026 (BSS) - An Iftar and prayer mahfil was held this afternoon at Khanjahan Ali College ground in Bagerhat, seeking eternal peace for the souls of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and Arafat Rahman Koko.

The event was organized by the 13th national parliament election steering committee. Special prayers were also offered for the success of the government led by Tarique Rahman and for the peace, prosperity and welfare of the country.

The program was presided over by Bagerhat District BNP Convener Engineer ATM Akram Hossain Talim. Newly appointed Administrator of Bagerhat District Council, Barrister Sheikh Mohammad Zakir Hossain, attended as the chief guest.

In his speech, the chief guest prayed for the forgiveness of the departed souls and called upon all to work together under the leadership of Tarique Rahman to build a developed, democratic and welfare-oriented Bangladesh.
