DHAKA, Aug 13, 2025 (BSS) - Land Adviser Ali Imam Majumdar today said automated land system could help reduction of public sufferings drastically, pointing out that the land is the source of 90 percent conflict.

"Around 90 percent conflict takes place centering land. If automated land system is launched, public sufferings would reduce," he told a workshop titled 'Information inclusion and revision in automated land service system' at Feni deputy commissioner office premises as the chief guest.

"It is not like that everything will be all right through digitalization. How will the problem reduce if the man behind machine makes mistakes? So, all people should be conscious and watchful to overcome the land related problem," the adviser said.

About automated land service system, he said the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has come forward to support in this regard and “we have to leverage it”.

Feni is an important area and that's why the district has been included to pilot project to initiate the system, Ali Imam Majumdar said, adding that the district will be more benefited if the system is introduced.

UNDP Bangladesh Resident Representative Stefan Liller spoke at the function as special guest while Chattogram Divisional Commissioner Dr M Ziauddin chaired it.

The district administration, land management automation project, land ministry and UNDP jointly organized the workshop.

Feni Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam delivered the welcome address, saying, "We will work together to make the project successful."
