DHAKA, Aug 13, 2025 (BSS) - Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter said the sacrifices of martyrs and the injured in the historic July Mass Uprising have given birth to a new Bangladesh.

"The new Bangladesh is the gift of the martyrs and injured of the July Uprising, and it should be our daily commitment to protect this country," she said, adding, "We must build a new Bangladesh in their honor."

The adviser made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion held at the Mirpur Girls Ideal Laboratory Institute here to mark the July Mass Uprising Day 2025.

Highlighting the country's political resilience, she said, "Bangladesh is a country where no one can survive for long by doing injustice. If any dictatorship tries to rise again in the future, we will take to the streets once more."

Turning attention to food security and public health, she emphasized the importance of protein-rich foods for proper nutrition. "Good health and nutrition cannot be ensured without consuming fish, meat, milk, and eggs," she noted.

The discussion was presided over by the institution's Head Teacher Zinat Farhana. Managing Committee President Md Mokchedur Rahman Abir, Principal Dr Mostari Ahmed, and Joint Coordinator of 'Mayer Dak' Md Mushfiqur Rahman also spoke on the occasion.
