SUNAMGANJ, Aug 17, 2025 (BSS) - Adviser to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder today visited the under-construction flyover project connecting Sachna and Rampur villages under Jamalganj upazila in the district.

Speaking during the visit, Dr Podder said that although several sectors have faced budget cuts, the Jamalganj flyover remains a priority project of the government.

He noted irregularities in the earlier tender process and informed that a new tender will be invited soon.

"Since the project has already received approval from ECNEC, construction work will resume immediately after completion of the fresh tendering process," he added.

The flyover project, approved by ECNEC on November 23, 2021, is part of a broader initiative to enhance rural communication infrastructure in Jamalganj and adjacent Dharmapasha upazilas.

Director of the Primary Education Department Md Kamrul Islam, Project Director Golam Maula, Sunamganj Deputy Commissioner Dr Mohammad Ilias Miah, Superintendent of Police Tofail Ahmed and LGED Executive Engineer Md Anwar Hossain, among others, accompanied the adviser during the visit.
