RUET celebrates University Day

RAJSHAHI, Sept 1, 2025 (BSS) - Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) celebrated "University Day" amid joy, enthusiasm and fanfare marking its 22nd founding anniversary today.

The day's programme began in the morning with hoisting of the national flag and releasing balloons, festoons and pigeons followed by plantation of tree saplings on campus.
    
Marking the day, teachers, students and staff brought out a colourful rally that paraded through the campus. A discussion was also held at the Central auditorium.

Member of University Grants Commission Prof Muhammad Tanzimuddin Khan and RUET Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof SM Abdur Razzaque joined the celebration and addressed its discussion as chief guest and patron respectively with Students Welfare Director Prof Rabiul Islam Sarker in the chair. 

VC Prof Abdur Razzaque sought cooperation from all quarters to run the university peacefully and successfully. 

He said eleven new ten-storey buildings are being constructed on the campus involving Taka 599.30 crore aimed at providing improved facilities for the teachers, researchers, students and others concerned.

The improved facilities will contribute a lot towards advancing and supporting the higher academic standards in both teaching and research that will turn the university into a centre of excellence.

In addition to providing sufficient infrastructure facilities to the teachers and students the development works ensured residential accommodations to the male and female students.

Side by side with providing training and higher education and research facilities for teachers the physical infrastructures enhanced library facilities to both students and teachers.
