DHAKA, Sept 06, 2025 (BSS) - Education Adviser Prof Dr CR Abrar today urged the students to develop themselves as the self-respecting citizens by rising above all sorts of greediness.
He made the call at the closing and award giving ceremony of the 4th National Eco Carnival 2025 organized by St. Gregory High School and College here.
Abrar said, “We are living in a time when the world is plagued by various problems…Starting from information technology, we have made great progress in every aspect of life in a very short time.”
“At such a time, our consumerism has reached such a level that our nature is no longer in balance. Due to this imbalance, the world is heading towards a major disaster. This situation will have a profound negative impact on the lives of our next generation. Our event today is an attempt to save the world from this disaster,” he added.
He said school is not just an institution for acquiring knowledge only, it is also a center for teaching ethics and morality. “Along with acquiring knowledge, you (students) also have to be aware of ethics, honesty, compassion, humanity and tolerance,” said Abrar.
The theme of this year's carnival was ‘All Eyes on Earth’. Today was the last day of the two-day carnival organized by the Gregorian Ecology Club.
Students from various educational institutions of the country participated in various competitions over the two days. Prizes were distributed among the winners of the competition.
