DMP files 1,503 cases against traffic rules violators

DHAKA, Nov 16, 2025 (BSS) – The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed a total of 1,503 cases against motor vehicles and drivers for violating traffic rules in the capital over the past day.

The DMP has been conducting campaigns against traffic violations in the city, aimed at bringing the traffic system under proper management, according to a statement from the DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman issued the statement here today.

It said that 318 motor vehicles were impounded and 117 vehicles were immobilized during the campaign against traffic rule violations on November 15.

The DMP release added that several traffic divisions conducted the campaign across the capital.

It further stated that Motijheel Traffic Division filed 367 cases, Wari Division registered 127 cases, Tejgaon Division filed 175 cases, Mirpur Division filed 235 cases, Gulshan Division filed 161 cases, Uttara Division registered 211 cases, Ramna Division filed 80 cases, and Lalbagh Division registered 147 cases against motor vehicles, three-wheelers, and motorcycles.
