DHAKA, Nov 16, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today allowed bail to actress Mehazabien Chowdhury and his brother Alishan Chowdhury in case lodged for allegedly giving threats and embezzling money.

Judge Afroza Tania of Dhaka Executive Magistrate Court-3 passed the order as the two accused surrendered before the court and pleaded for bail.

The court on November 3 issued arrest warrants against the brother and sister as they did not appear before the court on the pre-scheduled hearing date.

One Amirul Islam filed the case on March 24, saying he gave the accused Taka 27 lakhs for their business to become a partner in their venture. In spite of passing of long time, they did not take any initiative to float any business, neither returned Amirul's money.

"On March 16, they called him to go to a restaurant in the Hatirjheel area, where the accused and their accomplices allegedly abused and threatened him," the case documents said.
