2 suspects remanded over trader Ashraful’s murder

DHAKA, Nov 15, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today granted five  days remand for two suspects arrested in connection with a murder case over the killing of Rangpur vegetable trader Ashraful Haque.

Ashraful’s dismembered  body was recovered from two plastic drums near the High Court under Shahbagh police station in the capital city on Thursday. 

Metropolitan Magistrate Israt Jenifar Zerin passed the remand order upon a prayer seeking seven days remand for the two suspects Shamima Akhter Kohinur and Jarezul Islam in the murder case filed against them with Shahbagh police station.  

The Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested Shamima from Cumilla on Friday, while the Detective Branch (DB) of police apprehended Jarezul Islam from Daudkandi in Cumilla.

The victim’s sister Tanzira Begum filed the murder case with Shahbagh police station accusing Shamima, Jarezul and several unknown persons.
