Decisions on religion need to come from scholars: Khalid

DHAKA, Nov 22, 2025 (BSS) - Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain today said decisions regarding religion should come from the learned ones.

"I am always in favor of the unity of the scholars. If we separate, our existence will be in crisis. For this, there must be mutual respect between the scholars. We must respect each other," he said at the unveiling of the Allama Azhar Ali Anwar Shah (RA) memorial book at the Shafiur Rahman Auditorium of the Bangladesh Supreme Court. 

He requested the scholars to be respectful of each other.

Regarding the commemorative book, the adviser said, Allama Azhar Ali Anwar Shah (RA) commemorative book is a significant addition to the history of the Bengali nation. In this commemorative book, prominent scholars have tried to express their views, he added. 

Khalid said this commemorative publication will inspire the next generation of scholars and will shed new light.
