FARIDPUR, Nov 22, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Organizing Secretary Shama Obaid today said comprehensive initiatives will be undertaken to ensure quality education for women if the BNP comes to power.

"Grassroots women must be empowered, and their work must be properly organized. Their security must be ensured," she said while addressing a women's rally held under the slogan 'Women's victory, everyone's victory' at the Shaheed Akramunnesa Girls' High School grounds in Nagarkanda Upazila of Faridpur.

Shama criticized the absence of participatory elections during the fascist Sheikh Hasina regime.

"There has been no real election in the country for 17 years. People could not vote in 2018, nor in the dummy vote of 2024. This time, everyone must cast their vote. We must work together to ensure the victory of our party's candidate," she said.

She also outlined BNP's planned social initiatives. "If the BNP comes to power, people from all walks of life will be uplifted. A family card will be introduced for farmer households, and it will be registered under the name of the female members. This will enhance respect for women within the family," she added.

The event was presided over by Nargis Akhter, joint secretary of the Mohila Dal's Nagarkanda upazila unit.
