DHAKA, Nov 24, 2025 (BSS) - The Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase today considered and approved a major proposal involving Taka 10,979.019 crore for the import of refined fuel oil for the January-June, 2026 period.

The approval came from the 47th meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase in this year held today at the Cabinet Division Conference Room at Bangladesh Secretariat with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair.

Placed by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, the proposal seeks to import fuel oil through international tendering (quotation) to ensure uninterrupted national energy supply during the first half of 2026.

After reviewing the details, the committee recommended the proposal for approval.

Officials said the planned import will help maintain stable fuel availability for power generation, transport and industrial operations.
