BNP provides medical assistance to ailing grassroots leader in Bogura

BOGURA, Nov 24, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has extended financial assistance to Hafizur Rahman Sheikh, general secretary of Bhabanipur union Matsyajeebi Dal in Sherpur as part of the party’s ongoing support initiatives for its grassroots leaders and underprivileged citizens.

A delegation from the ‘Amra BNP Pharibar’ visited Hafizur Rahman’s residence at Bhabanipur on Monday and handed over the assistance. 

The programme is being carried out nationwide under the instructions of BNP Acting Chairman and chief patron of the ‘Amra BNP Paharibar’ Tarique Rahman.

According to party sources, Hafizur Rahman has been suffering from severe heart disease, with three blocks detected. Doctors have advised that he requires either a bypass surgery or the insertion of a cardiac stent.

Kalam Azad, coordinator of the Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions of the BNP Media Cell, led the delegation and delivered the financial aid to Hafizur’s family. 

BNP leader Hasanul Maruf Shimul, Bhabanipur union BNP president Mirza Abdul Bari, organizing secretary Masud Ranan, joint secretary Moklesar Rahman, Abdus Sattar, Abu Taher, Azad Khandaker, Tariqul Islam of the Volunteer Party, and Mamun Ahmed of the Chhatra Dal, among others, were present on the occasion.
