DMP files 1,533 cases for traffic rules violations

DHAKA, Dec 01, 2025 (BSS) – As part of the ongoing campaign to bring the traffic system under control, Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 1,533 cases against vehicles, owners, and drivers for violating traffic rules.

Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman said that the DMP Traffic Division conducted a campaign against traffic rule violators during the last one day and filed the cases.

He said that the DMP traffic police dumped 332 motor vehicles and towed 213 vehicles during the campaign against traffic rule violations on November 30.

The campaign against traffic violators will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka’s streets.

During the drive, Motijheel Traffic Division filed 324 cases, Wari Division registered 66 cases, Tejgaon Division filed 203 cases, Mirpur Division filed 201 cases, Gulshan Division filed 268 cases, Uttara Division registered 236 cases, Ramna Division filed 112 cases, and Lalbagh Division registered 123 cases against motor vehicles as well as three-wheelers and motorcycles, it said.
