JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Dec 29, 2025 (BSS) - The election schedule for the 
2026 Executive Council of the Jahangirnagar University Teachers' Association 
(JUTA) has been announced, with voting set for January 15.

A total of 15 positions will be contested, including President, Vice-
President, Treasurer, Secretary, Joint Secretary, and 10 Executive Council 
members, according to the schedule signed by the Teachers' Association's 
Chief Election Commissioner Professor Dr. Md. Akter Mahmud.

The draft voter list will be published on December 31. Written objections for 
corrections must be submitted to the Election Commission by January 4 at 
12:00 noon. The revised voter list will be published the same day at 3:00 pm.

Nomination papers can be submitted on January 5 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, 
with verification taking place from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

The list of valid candidates will be published at 3:15 pm. The deadline for 
withdrawal of nominations is January 8 at 12:00 noon, and the final list of 
candidates will be released the same day at 3:30 pm.

Voting will be held on January 15 (Thursday) from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm at the 
JU Teachers' Officers' Club. Vote counting will begin at 2:30 pm, and the 
results will be announced after counting is completed.

The three-member Election Commission also includes Professor Mohammad Nazmul 
Islam of the Institute of Business Administration and Associate Professor 
Mohammad Mamun Or Rashid of the Department of Bangla.

Election-related information, including the voter list and nomination papers, 
can be collected from the office of the Election Commissioner.
