DHAKA, Dec 29, 2025 (BSS) – Authorities of Bangladesh Railway (BR) today urged all to refrain from damaging the national asset. 

“All assets including railway tracks, rail engines, coaches, wagons are owned by the government of Bangladesh. Railways are country’s national asset,” said a BR press release.

Recently, passengers were facing hazardous situations due to some unpleasant incidents like throwing stones on trains, blocking of railway lines, while the BR were also facing financial losses due to damages of railway lines, locomotives, wagons, coaches and other properties in the country, it added. 

“It is the responsibility of all citizens to prevent this loss and damage. The Ministry of Railways and Bangladesh Railway urged everyone to be more careful in fulfilling this moral responsibility,” the release said.

The BR is committed to providing quality services to people. It sought cooperation from all to ensure quality services for the passengers. 

Stern action will be taken against those who will try to damage the state property, by illegal means, as it is a punishable offense, the release added.
