Arshadur Rouf given additional charge of Attorney General

DHAKA, Jan 01, 2026 (BSS) - Additional Attorney General Mohammad Arshadur Rouf has been given the additional charge of the post of Attorney General.

A notification signed by Law and Justice Division Secretary Liaquet Ali Molla today, said the President has given Additional Attorney General Mohammad Arshadur Rouf the additional charge of the Attorney General of Bangladesh.

The country's 17th Attorney General, Md Asaduzzaman, has resigned from his post recently to contest the 13th National Parliamentary Election. He will run for the election from Jhenaidah-1 (Shailkupa) constituency from BNP.

Following the July Mass Uprising, senior advocate Md Asaduzzaman was appointed Attorney General on August 8, 2024.
