DHAKA, Jan 20, 2026 (BSS) - Youth and Sports Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul today said Bangladesh cannot be compelled to play in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in India by putting unreasonable pressure.

“We have logically requested a change of venue for valid reasons. We cannot be forced to play in India through illogical pressure or unreasonable coercion,” he said while speaking to journalists at Bangladesh Secretariat here.

Asked whether Scotland would play in place of Bangladesh if Bangladesh does not go to India, he said that there have been many instances in the past where venues were changed because India did not go to play in Pakistan.
