Sakhawat stresses technology-based education to keep pace with modern world

DHAKA, Jan 23, 2026 (BSS) - Labour, Employment and Shipping Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) Dr. M. Sakhawat Hossain today emphasized the need to give maximum importance to science and technology-based education in order to keep pace with the modern world.

"The progress of the world today depends on science and technology, and appropriately skilled graduates are required for the state to adjust to global trends," he said.

The adviser made the remarks as the chief guest while addressing the second convocation-2026 of CCN University of Science & Technology in Cumilla.

Addressing the graduates, Dr. Sakhawat said it is natural to desire quick success in life, but true success comes through patience, perseverance and self-confidence.

Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB) Chairman Dr. M. Sabur Khan attended the function as the convocation speaker, while Labour and Employment Secretary Dr. M. Sanowar Jahan Bhuiyan and Shipping Secretary were present as special guests.

A total of 352 graduates who completed their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from different faculties between 2023 and 2025 were conferred degrees at the convocation.
