DHAKA, Jan 23, 2026 (BSS) - Captain Azizul Hakim Tamim led from the front as Bangladesh Under-19 sealed a comprehensive seven-wicket win over USA in their last group match of the Youth World Cup at Takashinga Sports Club, Highfield, Harare today.

Hakim hammered an 82 ball-64 with two fours and as many sixes as the young Tigers reached 201-3 in 41.3 overs for a victory after bowling out USA for 199 in 50 overs.

The platform of the victory was set by openers Zawad Abrar and Rifat Beg who put on 78 runs for the opening stand.

Abrar made second-best 47 off 42 with five fours and three sixes before being the first batter out. Rifat was dismissed for 30.

Hakim and Kalam Siddiki Alin then shared 88 runs for the third wicket stand to edge the side close to the victory.

The stand was broken by the dismissal of Hakim but Kalam who was unbeaten on 30 and Rizan Hossain, 20 not out, guided the side to the victory without much fuss.

Iqbal Hossain Emon claimed 3-41 to led Bangladesh Under-19's bowling.

Fellow pacer Al Fahad, Shahriar Ahmed and Rizan Hossan grabbed two wickets apiece to complement Emon in making USA batting line up disarray after Bangladesh put them into bat first.

Adnit Jhamb put a brave fight for USA to hit 69 ball-68 not out with three fours and one six, an innings which took them closer to 200-run mark despite top order collapse.

Emon and Fahad took one wicket apiece in the first three overs to leave USA 6-2 by removing Amrinder Gill and Arjun Mahesh respectively.

Sahil Garg and captain Utkrash Srivastava tried to repair with 51-run partnership but Shahriar broke through with the wicket of the Garg who made 35.

Emon and Rizan then joined the party to scythe down the middle order before Adnit resisted. He guided the lower order astutely to make the scoreboard respectable to some extent.

Bangladesh earlier suffered an 18-run defeat to India on DLS in their first match before their second match against New Zealand was washed out.
